Congress Venues

The 2019 iHEA World Congress will take place at the University of Basel, which was founded in 1460 and is considered to be one of the leading universities in the country. It has an international reputation of outstanding achievements in research and teaching.

The map below identifies the location of the four buildings at the University and the nearby University Hospital that will be used for all Congress sessions other than the opening and mid-congress plenary sessions.


 

 

Kollegienhaus

The Pre-Congress Sessions on July 13 & 14, 2019, and many of the parallel sessions during the main congress, will be held in the Kollegienhaus. It will also be the main location for registration.

 


 

University Hospital

Several of the parallel sessions will be held in the following three buildings at the University Hospital:

  • ZLF (also hosts the Closing Plenary and Ceremony on July 17, 2019)
  • Pathologie
  • Klinikum 1

 

 

The 2019 iHEA World Congress also has different locations for the opening and mid-week plenaries and the social events. See below for more details about the different locations around Basel.

 

Congress Center

The Congress Center Basel is Switzerland’s biggest convention center and is located at Messeplatz 21, Basel.

Events taking place in the Congress Centre are:

  • Opening Plenary and Reception (July 14, 2019)
  • Mid-week Plenary (July 16, 2019)

Markthalle

This "covered market" offer visitors a wide variety of dishes from all over the world, served straight from the various stalls. In the evening, the hall is transformed with a bar, candlelight and a cultural program.
