About the Webinar
Organised by the IHEA ECR SIG, this webinar brings together three recent health economics PhD graduates to share their research alongside honest insights into the final stages of doctoral study. From writing a thesis and preparing for the viva to navigating challenges, lessons learned, and career decisions, our speakers will each have ten minutes to discuss the realities of life beyond the research. This session offers practical advice and reflections, as well as an opportunity to learn from those who have recently been there.

Dr Amber Salisbury
Dr Amber Salisbury works as a Health Economics Research Fellow at the University of Manchester. Her current research centers on patient preference studies that aim to support the implementation of cancer screening within the UK.
Dr An Ta
An is a Health Economist and is currently working as Associate Director at Cytel and Honorary Research Fellow at PenTAG, University of Exeter. An holds a PhD in Health Economics and her experience spans academic research, consulting, and industry-facing projects. Her experience focuses on health economic modelling, evidence generation, and market access.
Dr Gintare Valentelyte
Dr. Gintare Valentelyte is a Health Economist and Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Chronic Diseases and Population Health Research, RCSI, Ireland, specialising in health policy evaluation, cost-effectiveness analysis, and chronic disease inequalities in Ireland. Her research combines advanced quantitative methods with strong patient and public involvement, translating evidence into national health policy through collaborations with the Irish national healthcare providers, national funding bodies, the WHO, and international academic partners. She holds a PhD and a Masters in Health Economics.
