Overview: The mission of the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative (MVI) is to accelerate the development of promising malaria vaccines and ensure their availability and accessibility in the developing world. MVI works with researchers, companies, governments, and partner organizations to accomplish its mission.
MVI intends to further strengthen its ability to analyze the cost and financial implications of future malaria vaccines, in parallel with each vaccine’s development and clinical trial processes. Duties and responsibilities:
- Liaise with MVI and PATH staff and collaborators working on the research and development of vaccine candidates so that economics inform product development activities.

- Doctoral level degree in economics or equivalent in experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years experience as an economist, with majority of that experience focused on developing countries.
- Extensive experience working with public health programs at country, regional and global levels.
- Experience collaborating with officials in bilateral and multilateral agencies on economics issues.

Health Outcomes Analyst (HOA): Permanent, to £28K. You will be responsible for analysis and interpretation of health outcomes data, and the production of systematic literature reviews and pharmaceutical reimbursement dossiers.
Health Economics Modeller (HEM): Permanent, to £50K. You will apply your economic modelling expertise in the development of complex models using the latest software.
Health Economist (HE): Permanent, to £50K. You will apply your HEOR knowledge to design and manage health economics projects.
Database Programmer (DP): Minimum of six-month contract, to £25K. Your role will include the enhancement of an existing analytical Access database and assistance in HE modelling.
A relevant first degree is required, although a PhD is desirable for the HE roles. Ideally, this should be complemented by relevant agency, industry or academic experience.

Research Associate in Health Economics: Cornell University
Location: Ithaca, New York, USA
The Department of Policy Analysis and Management is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on projects in health economics and policy.
Duties include:
- working with large cross-sectional and longitudinal data sets;
- performing econometric analyses;
- initiating and developing ideas and concepts for manuscripts; and
- writing and editing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
The Research Associate will work with a team of faculty on funded projects in health economics.
Projects with current or pending funding include:
- a study of the impact of smoking-related advertisements on smoking cessation;
- a study of the relationship between schooling and health behaviors; and
- studies of public policy issues related to pharmaceuticals and the pharmaceuticals industry.
A Ph.D. in Economics or related field; experience in economic research methods, econometric analysis, and statistical software (Stata, SAS) required. Experience in designing and conducting economic research projects; and strong technical writing skills, required. Experience in health economics research preferred.
