<p>The role of the Senior Research Analyst is to provide comprehensive support to Strategic Research from idea conceptualization through dissemination of findings. The individual will have solid training in health services research methods including literature review, study design, and scientific writing. A familiarity with pharmacy and medical claims data will be valuable, as will data manipulation experience. The Senior Research Analyst will have a command of econometric analysis, with companion programming skills in either Stata or SAS. Applicants with health economics backgrounds and prior publication experience will be especially attractive candidates. </p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>

<li>General knowledge of economics and more specifically health economics.</li>

My client is a well regarded international Pharmaceutical company with a global presence. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a European Health Economist in the UK.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>

<p>Key responsibilities in the role will include: </p>

<ul>
<li>Develop and conduct high quality research programs and regularly evaluate products for health economic assessment possibilities</li>
<li>Determine treatment patterns through database studies and in-depth interviews with practicing ophthalmologists in order to gain an understanding of resource utilization pattern</li>
<li>Conduct analyses of published literature in support of project planning and analysis</li>
<li>Design, conduct, analyze, and report all types of retrospective and prospective economic and patient-reported outcome studies including the incorporation of appropriate endpoints into clinical trials.</li>
<li>Develop economic models</li>
<li>Support marketing activities by providing information demonstrating the added value of drugs /devices</li>
<li>Support local affiliates in the preparation of their Pricing and Reimbursement dossiers</li>
<li>Publicly present, and achieve journal publication of, study results</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Expertise Required</strong> </p>

<ul>
<li>Demonstrable expertise in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry or in a consultancy serving these sectors, in a health economics related function</li>
<li>Track record of public presentation of study results and successful journal publication of results</li>
<li>Compatibility with and knowledge of European HE guidelines and pricing</li>
<li>Clinical development experience will be highly regarded</li>
<li>Knowledge in biostatistics / epidemiology will be beneficial</li>
<li>Ability to use statistical software (e.g. SAS, BMDP, SPSS, Statistica, etc) and / or model software (e.g. TreeAge) will be beneficial</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to appropriately manage study resources</li>
<li>Fluency in English is required. Additional languages would be beneficial</li>
</ul>
