Assistant or Associate Professor of Outcomes Sciences: South Carolina College of Pharmacy

Location: Columbia, South Carolina

The South Carolina College of Pharmacy (SCCP) at the campus of the University of South Carolina, in collaboration with the Center for Medication Safety and Efficacy, invites applications for a 12-month tenure-track faculty appointment at the assistant or associate professor rank in the areas of outcomes, pharmacoeconomic, pharmacoepidemiologic or health policy research.

The successful candidate should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with training in health policy, outcomes, pharmacoeconomics or pharmaceoepidemiology. The candidate should have good verbal and written communication skills, strong quantitative skills, and experience conducting population-based research. Preference will be given to health professionals. Responsibilities of the position include instruction to Pharm.D. and graduate students. Additionally, there is the expectation that the individual has demonstrated capabilities as an independent researcher with funding from competitive extramural sources, and will continue his or her research program.

SCCP is jointly administered by the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina and is the culmination of a state wide effort to enhance pharmacy research and education. The University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina, along with the Palmetto Health Alliance, the Greenville Hospital System, and Spartanburg Regional Medical Center have formed the Health Sciences South Carolina Consortium to advance research, education, and public health across the state of South Carolina. The SCCP is an integral part of this state wide collaboration. The mission of the Center for Medication Safety and Efficacy within SCCP is to increase drug safety and effectiveness and decrease medication errors by identifying the incidence and significance of adverse drug events that occur with prescription and non-prescription drugs.
