Job Description
The Public Health Policy Program within the Public Health and Environment Division of RTI International has an immediate opening for an Analyst with relevant experience in health policy research to assist with the conduct of public health research and evaluation projects. The primary research area for the program is evaluating the influence of public health policies, programs and interventions aimed at reducing tobacco and illicit substance use and promoting healthy behaviors. The program has a mix of NIH grants and contracts with state and federal agencies. We collaborate with state health departments, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, and private foundations to address relevant and timely public health issues. Familiarity and experience with simulation models, and involvement and participation on successful projects (as a graduate student or after) that have led to publication are also highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead ongoing and new research projects with multidisciplinary team members.
- Conduct and/or direct complex statistical/econometric analyses
- Lead research staff on projects.
- Prepare project reports, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present at scientific conferences.
- Contribute to grant and contract proposals to government agencies and other funding sources.
Qualifications
- PhD in Economics, Health Policy, or other related field.
- Strong skills in quantitative research.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
