Position Summary
The American Society for Clinical Pathology is seeking an Executive Director for Health Services Research. Reporting to the ASCP’s Executive Vice President, the individual is responsible for the administration of the ASCP Institute. The Institute is the home for all extramural funding opportunities including, but not limited to: international outreach, health services research, domestic outreach, patient and/or member centric research and other supporting initiatives evolving from the Institute Advisory Committee. A specific example includes actualizing ASCP’s international cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control.
This role is a full-time position at our downtown Chicago office. Guidance and direction is provided by the Sr. Scientific Director, the ASCP Board of Directors, and the Chair of ASCP Institute Advisory Committee. The Executive Director for the ASCP Institute provides leadership and overall management direction to the Institute staff.
Qualifications
- A doctoral degree in a related field and demonstrated experience in medicine or health policy research (laboratory medicine preferred). Candidates must have recent and substantial publication track record in order to be considered.
- Successful track record as a primary grant investigator required.
