HERG has a long-standing and internationally recognised programme of policy-relevant and methodological research in health economics. To expand and develop its programme of work, HERG is seeking to appoint a high quality researcher who wishes to further their career in health economics in a vibrant and expanding department.

We wish to appoint a health economist with substantial applied research experience to the position of Research Fellow. The successful candidate will be expected to have a PhD in health economics or a related discipline, ideally with experience of economic modelling and/or economic evaluation alongside clinical trials. The successful candidate will need to be able to work both as part of a team and individually and will have significant opportunities to develop their own research interests. Experience of publishing/presenting research findings as well as contributing to grant applications is desirable.

The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in health economics research in a well-established and internationally respected research institute. The appointment is initially offered on a two year fixed term basis but there is opportunity for a longer-term appointment.

For an informal discussion of the post, please contact Professor Paul Trueman Tel 01895 267809 email Paul.Trueman@Brunel.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is 31 August 2010.
