We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Fellow to join the Health Economics and Financing Programme to work on the project “Integrated Community Case Management of Common Childhood Diseases: Mocambique and Uganda”. The post holder will be expected work as part of multi-disciplinary team conducting an economic evaluation on the impact of improving the performance of community health workers leading to a sustained increase in the proportion of children with diarrhoea and other common diseases receiving appropriate treatment. The position will include reviewing literature, providing guidance to researchers in the study sites, help in collecting and managing the primary dataset and taking a leading role in data analysis and dissemination. The post holder will be required to assess important methodological issues in economic evaluation that arise when assessing multiple health gains.
We are looking for an applicant with a background in health economics or health services research preferably in low and middle-income countries, with an ability to communicate results through academic publications and other media. The successful candidate will have had previous experience in undertaking a health economic evaluation either as part of their studies or previous employment. The posts will involve some teaching at LSHTM and the possibility of the further development of research in this field.
The post is full time for two years and four months and based in London. Salary will be on the Academic Pathway in the range £35,370 - £40,188 per annum and will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions.
