Senior Health Economist

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking an exceptional candidate for a Senior Health Economist.

The Senior Health Economist will provide national leadership on the application of economic principles to the development and analysis of public health policy.

Major duties include:

  • Serve as an authoritative technical advisor on economics and final authority on all matters related to the analysis and collection of economic data relevant to CDC goals.

  • Develop policy goals, methods of study, and data systems as they relate to economic aspects both nationwide and internationally.

  • Monitor changing requirements for health economic data relating to the health care system, specifically concerning public health policy.

  • Analyze and interpret the economic impact of proposed health policies, programs, and budgets.

  • Work with other federal agency representatives to systematically review the prevention effectiveness of activities promoted by the federal government as they relate to policy development, implementation, and revision.
