King’s College London is committed to promoting excellence in teaching, learning and research. The Division of Health and Social Care Research (HSCR) comprises all Principal Investigators in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health Sciences and collaborators in other Schools and local NHS Trusts.
The Division of HSCR provides a focus for health and social care researchers from a range of scientific backgrounds and Departments across the College to work collaboratively with each other and with basic scientists, clinicians, managers and policy makers in health and social care. It has established strong external links with local and national health and social care organizations, including the Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College NHS Foundation Trusts.
We currently have an exciting opportunity and seek applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates who are keen to build on our research strengths and contribute to the development and future success of our Research group.
The post is linked to The National Institute for Health Research, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust Biomedical Research Centre. The post holder will be integral to developing research programmes in the 7 themes of the Centre and contributing to proof of concept studies, early and late phase clinical trial design as well as developing the informatics programme between primary and secondary care and research databases.
The post involves a teaching and training commitment, including contributing to the undergraduate work of the Division and to the Masters courses in Public Health and Primary Health Care.
You will have a broad range of Health Economics expertise. A research interest in economic evaluation and the evaluation of health outcomes is preferable. In particular candidates should have an interest in the development of statistical and quantitative techniques in the area of economic evaluation. You will benefit from having access to one of the largest hospitals in London as well as surrounding primary care trusts to contribute to health technology assessment and other health economics-related research in these clinical settings.
Salary will be between £40,162 and £47,478 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance, depending on qualifications and experience.
