The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Economics Resource Center seeks a health economist or health services researcher to conduct health services research and incorporate cost-effectiveness into large-scale multi-site clinical trials. We are a rapidly growing center with support staff, a state-of-the-art computer system, and access to major health care databases. We are affiliated with the nation’s premier clinical trials program, a national network of health services research centers, and the Stanford University School of Medicine. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline, knowledge of health care institutions and issues, and prior experience or demonstrated potential to be a successful collaborator. The strongest candidates will have experience with cost-effectiveness analysis, decision analysis, or preference assessment. The successful candidate will develop an independent research agenda and publish in peer-reviewed journals. U.S. citizenship is required. Start date is flexible. Salary: in the GS-12/13 range, depending on experience. Relocation assistance is available.
