York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC) at the University of York is looking to recruit a Research Consultant - Modeller. YHEC is a rapidly expanding research and consultancy organisation based at the University of York.
YHEC provides consultancy and research to a wide range of public and private bodies. Our clients include:
- Government bodies, such as the Department of Health;
- Health Technology Assessment agencies;
- Global pharmaceutical manufacturers;
- Medical device and biotech companies.
Our research interests are broad, incorporating health technology assessment, health service financing, health service evaluations and patient safety. We adopt a wide range of both qualitative and quantitative techniques as part of our research including economic modelling techniques, willingness to pay analysis and programme budgeting and marginal analysis.
Our location means that staff have full access to the range of facilities offered by the University of York. Staff are encouraged to engage with other research departments based at the University and YHEC frequently collaborates with researchers from centres of excellence in health economics and health sciences.

A vacancy currently exists for a Research Consultant - Modeller.
The main purpose of the job is to is to contribute to the development of economic evaluations, particularly those with a modelling component. The candidate will be expected to work in project teams alongside other research staff and project directors.
This post will report to the Business Manager of YHEC.
Research staff are expected to have direct contact with clients and contribute towards generating research income for the department.
