Health Economist: Oxford Outcomes Ltd., Canada

We are seeking to recruit a health economist to work with our consultancy team on a range of health economics, epidemiology and health outcomes projects. This position would suit an academically-minded individual with an undergraduate or masters (preferred) degree in biological science/pharmacy/epidemiology/biostatistics who is eager to develop their health research skills and enjoys a fast-paced work environment. Candidates should have least two years involving responsibility for project management. Individuals with an MA, MS, MPH or equivalent degree and at least five years of relevant research experience may be considered. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
Successful applicants should be able to employ a variety of economic modeling techniques using appropriate software (e.g., Excel or TreeAge) and be proficient in the use of SAS or Stata for statistical analysis of insurance claims, administrative health services databases, and clinical trial data. In addition to project management, the successful applicant will participate in interdisciplinary research teams, performing statistical analysis, developing medical decision models, conducting systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses, and writing project reports and manuscripts for publication.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD or Masters of Epidemiology or Pharmacy or Health Administration or equivalent degree with basic knowledge of disease processes
- 1-3 years working experience in health economics research capacity
- Working knowledge of health economic modeling techniques
- excellent organizational skills including written and verbal communication
- detail oriented with the ability to multi-task efficiently
- extremely proficient with the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- previous experience with Reference Manager or End Note
