Research Associate III - Modeler: Center for Health Economics and Science Policy
Location: Bethesda, Maryland and Boston, Massachusetts, USA

Responsibilities associated with this position include:
Researcher/Modelers must have experience with research design, handling large databases, computer modeling, and preparation of reports, abstracts, and manuscripts. Candidate should be able to assume a leadership role in conducting and managing day-to-day operations for multiple research projects simultaneously.
- Independently directs some research projects with guidance from senior staff as well as participates in the design and conduct of studies to evaluate the value of new health care interventions, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices - studies will involve multiple aspects of economic modeling. Types of modeling range from spreadsheet financial models to Excel-based Markov models to simulation modeling using more advanced modeling software such as ARENA.
- Maintaining existing client relations and fostering new client relations
- Proposal preparation and management
- Presentation of research, including dissemination at scientific conferences and submission of manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journals
Job requirements:
- PhD; or Masters with greater than two years of experience; or Bachelors with greater than five years of experience working within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry or performing applied economic studies in the academic or consulting environment
- Advanced technical skills in econometrics or decision analytic modeling
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, mid-level staff, and clients
- Demonstrated expertise in the field, including publications in peer reviewed journals, is required
