We are working with a growing pharmaceutical company that currently develops and produces products to improve acute hospital care. Headquartered in the North Eastern United States, it has established marketing and distribution platforms in the U.S. and Europe with operational subsidiaries in Germany, Switzerland, France, UK and Italy. The Company is publicly traded on the Nasdaq exchange and employs approximately 500 professionals. Its annual revenues exceeded approximately $350 million in 2008. With two products currently on the market, and several more in late-stage development, our client is focused on advancing the treatment of critical care patients through the delivery of innovative, cost-effective medicines to the worldwide hospital marketplace.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for substantiating product value through appropriate economic and health outcomes data in line with the relevant pricing and reimbursement strategy.
- Design and implement economic research studies for clinical trials that provide economic perspective for product portfolio decisions, marketing, product reimbursement strategies and regulatory agency submissions.
- Compare and evaluate the economic value of products and therapies with the clinical and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and/or epidemiology studies. Furthermore, he/she will work with clinical research to add health economics endpoints to clinical trials and biostatisticians to analyze and report study results.
- Work closely with product reimbursement to help develop strategies and marketing and pricing programs. Together with the Reimbursement submission team they will develop Global Product Value Dossiers and HTA Dossiers for reimbursement/formulary negotiations in key markets.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a formal qualification in economics, the natural sciences, pharmacy, or in medicine. A post-graduate qualification in pubic health, epidemiology, statistics, health economics or business administration would be an asset.
- In addition the candidate will have at least five (5) years work experience in health economics, outcomes research, or clinical research, preferably gained in the pharmaceutical industry and/or in a consulting agency or reimbursement authority.
