Associate/Full Professor (12 month tenure-track): Virginia Commonwealth University

The Department of Healthcare Policy and Research in the School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track academic position in health services research, health economics, or health policy.
The Department of Healthcare Policy and Research http://www.healthpolicy.vcu.edu at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is a vital and growing research and teaching department in the School of Medicine. VCU boasts one of the country’s most comprehensive health sciences centers - the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, and Allied Health Professions, and the Massey Cancer Center as part of the VCU Medical Center. Moreover, the Department is ideally located in Richmond, Virginia, the state’s capital, and close to Washington DC, providing excellent opportunities for interaction and research collaboration with practitioners and policy makers in state and federal agencies.
Qualifications:
Applicants must (1) possess a doctoral degree in economics, health services research, public policy, or related field and (2) have a strong research background with a funded research program. Candidates whose research focus includes cancer, social and economic determinants of health, health insurance, or healthcare delivery systems are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have strong quantitative and methodological expertise. Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidates will play a central role in the Department’s program of teaching and research. Faculty members will be essential members of a team developing creative, innovative approaches to public health education and collaborative research. The successful candidate will be expected to develop/sustain an independent, funded research program.
Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experience.
