The Department of Finance in the School of Business at the University of Connecticut invites applications from candidates in the areas of health care finance and insurance for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor beginning fall 2010.

Responsibilities for this position include teaching corporate finance, health care finance and insurance courses at the undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels, including mentoring of PhD students. Conduct high quality research published in leading journals in health care finance, economics, or insurance. Participate in prominent national and international academic conferences in these fields. Contribute to the outreach activities and programs of the finance program. These include industry conferences and internship programs. The rank of the position will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, consistent with the School of Business and University policies. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Candidates may work at the University of Connecticut’s main campus located in Storrs, in the scenic Northeast corner of the state, and/or the campuses at Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford, Torrington, Waterbury, and West Hartford.

Minimum Qualifications:

All candidates must hold a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or insurance or a related field from an accredited institution. Applicants considered at the rank of Full Professor must have an active and nationally recognized program of academic research complemented by an established record of publications in top-tier journals in areas related to health care finance, economics, and/or insurance. In addition, Full Professor candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants at the rank of Associate Professor must demonstrate considerable progressive accomplishments of both research and teaching excellence.
