Our company is dedicated to advancing orthopedics through the discovery and development of quality innovative robotic and implantable surgical solutions that consistently, reproducibly and precisely restore patient qualityof life.

We are currently seeking a Health Care Economist that will provide economic research and analysis in support for existing and developing products and therapies to impact health care decision making and drive growth through proving out economic value and increased reimbursement. The Health Care Economist primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating and analyzing the economic impact (modeling, budget impact analysis) of products and therapies on health care systems, including government and third party payers.
  • Developing plans and implementing healthcare economic research programs in collaborationwith customers and institutions to drive proof validation for economic value-add ofMAKOPlasty procedures.
  • Research reimbursement-related data sources; analyze and recommend actions (data such aspayor-economics, clinical outcomes, etc.) and provide consultation and advice to Marketing, Clinical Research and Managed Markets departments.
  • Work with external consultants and experts in driving incremental reimbursement where clinical/economic value supports higher payment.
  • Analyze clinical outcome data to impact payor-related decision-making as it relates totherapy reimbursement and adoption. Prepare and/or present information to payors.
  • Assist with the development of external publications (e.g. data analysis and participate inwriting). Ensure appropriate exposure of publication information to internal and externalaudiences (e.g. field sales staff, European colleagues, etc.).

The successful candidate should possess the following education, qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years’ related health economics experience in an academic, industry, or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in health economic analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated understanding of statistics, clinical trials, research design methodology and health services research.
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices and standards related to health economics and reimbursement.
