The Health Economics Research Centre (HERC) in the Department of Public Health, University of Oxford, wishes to appoint a Research Officer to work on two projects relating to health care in China: one on re-aligning health system incentives to improve health services delivery, with specific focus on TB Control and chronic diseases, the other on social health insurance.

The Research Officer will conduct literature reviews and synthesis relating to the two projects; conduct empirical studies on measuring and evaluating financial risk protection, quality and efficiency for TB control and chronic diseases; conduct analysis of Chinese health care policies and analyse secondary data. The Research Officer will also spend 15-20% of his/her time on project coordination.

Applicants should have a Masters degree in Health Policy, Public Health or Public Policy and some prior research assistant experience in the area of international health policy, health care financing, provider payment incentives and/or health system strengthening. Applicants must be able to work independently. The ability to communicate in written Chinese would be an advantage, but is not essential.
