Senior Public Affairs Advisor

Location: Washington D.C., USA

The Washington D.C. office of an international law firm seeks a Senior Public Affairs Advisor to join a dynamic healthcare practice that works with clients on federal legislative and regulatory issues related to health care finance and reimbursement.

Job functions include monitoring, evaluating and reporting on federal administrative and regulatory issues related to health care finance and other healthcare policies, formulating Medicare and Medicaid legislative and regulatory positions related to reimbursement including interpreting and analyzing data relating to those proposals, attending meetings and report on the activities of key agencies and advisory bodies involved in health care delivery, preparing reports and communications on federal health policy issues, including major proposed and final Medicare and Medicaid regulations affecting healthcare clients.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or public policy; a minimum of 5 years experience in healthcare reimbursement and policy issues; knowledge and understanding of Medicare and Medicaid payment systems and regulatory issues required; working knowledge of CPT and RUC processes of value. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to balance multiple projects; attention to detail; strong organizational skills; extensive computer skills including MS Office, excel, and search engines; ability to work well in fast-paced work environment.
