Associate Director EMEA Health Policy, Reimbursement and Pricing Director Health Economist

Location: Switzerland
Salary: Circa 180,000-200,000 CHF plus bonus plus benefits

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity exists within an establish international corporation specializing in medical devices for an experienced individual to lead pricing, reimbursement and health policy aspects ensuring maximum market access for the EMEA operations across key business areas. Located in Switzerland, in the Geneva area, my client is seeking a diplomatic professional with a strategic outlook to ensure the maintenance and growth of the core business areas to ensure funding for their European operations.

The role works cross-functionally and the ideal candidate will have the capacity to add value to the organisation through successful internal and external networking. Working closely with the clinical, marketing and national reimbursement teams, as well as industry bodies such as Eucomed, strategic oversight and interaction at all levels is essential for this role within a flat corporate structure where inter-personal skills are all important.

This role is exclusive to Barrington James.

Major Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the funding & reimbursement efforts in EMEA for Franchises are efficient and coordinated resulting in a positive funding/reimbursement environment that is conducive to maximizing patient access to Franchise products & therapies

  • Lead and drive all related studies and analyses: resource utilization studies, cost of care studies, cross-sectional studies, patient chart reviews, meta-analyses, epidemiological analyses etc.

  • Be the recognized expert on funding/reimbursement for one or more of the European Franchise operations

  • Assess the need for HTA and cost effectiveness data, managing the relationship and contract with Health Economists.

  • In collaboration with the National Health Policy and reimbursement manager develop and implement strategies to obtain or improve the funding/reimbursement for Franchise products

  • Together with the Clinical teams, Pricing manager(s), Government Affairs, Franchise and Senior Director’s EMEA determine the funding & reimbursement strategy for new products

  • Generate additional data alongside product development to translate clinical surrogates into quantified differential value and relevant market access endpoints.

  • Deliver value dossiers as core element for Pricing & Reimbursement negotiations and revisions, which are tailored to and relevant for the regions/countries.

Education and Experience

  • Working experience in the field of funding/ reimbursement, preferably at EU level
  • Working experience in Health Economics, HTA
  • Working experience in negotiations in hospital budgets is a plus
  • Post grad experience within Pharma or med device industry or Government assessment agency
  • Proven relationship building capability
  • Proven ability to influence business decision makers
  • Achievement orientated, able to show their added value in an organisation
