Director: Global Health Economics

Location: Libertyville, Illinois area, USA
Length: permanent

The Director, Global Health Economics will contribute to improved profitability and continued growth of the company by examining the payment environment in key markets, developing compelling analyses to provide strong economic value propositions for payers of our products and implement a selected course of action to ensure that there is integration with R&D, NPD, Marketing, Clinical Research and local business needs.

Responsibilties:

  • Collaborate with global and local reimbursement teams to examine the payment environment with expected coding and/or tariff framework in order to identify and understand relevant coding/coverage and regulations.
  • Develop convincing evidence submissions to support higher reimbursement levels for our new products
  • Collaborate with Clinical Research to design and execute clinical programs to support development of strong economic value propositions for our products
  • Collaborate with Global Marketing to develop and execute marketing programs to support improved value propositions for our products
  • Collaborate with the Global New Product Development teams to ensure improved product value is incorporated into new product development programs
  • Understand and keep abreast of trends in health economics and reimbursement policies globally and locally

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Writing
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time including internationally

Qualifications:

  • Academic/Credentials/Certifications
  • MBA, MPH or PhD with an emphasis in Health Economics

Length of experience

  • At least 5 years experience in Health Economics in a Healthcare Environment (Pharma, Medical Device, Biotech or Consulting)
  • Proven track record in taking health economics data and creating a strategy

Specialized skills/technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of Health Care Economics, Economic Value Analysis, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Device, Clinical Research, Reimbursement, Design Controls
  • Proven record of people management desirable
