Pricing & Reimbursement Manager, Market Access
Location: Germany

SEC is retained to source and select a talented professional to join our client, a leading mid sized pharmaceutical organisation within their growing Market Access department. This role is office based at the company’s global headquarters in Germany. Full details of the client and location are available on application.
Our client is increasingly focused on health economics and market access strategy to optimise their business activity. The creation of this position is due to team growth and you will join a team of 5, reporting into the Head of Pricing and Reimbursement. The existing team is international and although German language skills are advantageous, English language fluency is the only essential language requirement.
The scope of the role is focused on pricing and reimbursement strategies for European markets. For this reason the most important factor to be successful in securing this position is demonstrable expertise with pricing and reimbursement of pharmaceuticals with an in depth knowledge of European pricing and reimbursement systems.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
To advise on the commercialisation of our clients products regarding:
1) The impact of international pricing & reimbursement systems on marketing and market access strategies
2) The assessment of pricing and market access risks arising from price changes, particularly focused on cross-border impacts
3) Communication of pricing and reimbursement risks to managementTo develop and implement European pricing strategies, taking ownership of developing the strategy, updating documentation and aligning the strategies with our international teams;
- To financially model pricing scenarios and pricing impacts;
- To support the management and ongoing implementation of the European pricing and reimbursement process;
- To develop and support pricing studies to assess the value held in products;
- To support assessment of the value argumentation of our products to payers;
- To advise on the price potential for business development opportunities;
- To build up and ensure international co operations and being a contact person for pricing and reimbursement related questions;
- To ensure the cross functional cooperation with our product teams regarding all questions about pricing and reimbursement and value argumentation;
- To expand our clients network of Key Decision Makers in National Pricing and Reimbursement systems.
What we are looking for in a candidate:
- University degree in medicine/ science/ economics, preferably with a business or economics qualification, a relevant post graduate qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- At least 2 years experience in role working in the pricing and reimbursement area either with a pharmaceutical firm or in a pricing and reimbursement consulting firm
- Demonstrated expertise with pricing and reimbursement of pharmaceuticals with in depth knowledge of European pricing and reimbursement systems
- Strong ability to assess the economical and healthcare political environment and a keen sense to anticipate new trends and market opportunities
- An excellent written and oral command of English
