SEC is retained to source and select a talented professional to join our client, a leading mid sized pharmaceutical organisation within their growing Market Access department. This role is office based at the company’s global headquarters in Germany. Full details of the client and location are available on application.
Our client is increasingly focused on health economics and market access strategy to optimise their business activity. The creation of this position is due to team growth and you will join a team of 5, reporting into the Head of Health Economics. The existing team is international and although German language skills are advantageous, English language fluency is the only essential language requirement.
The scope of the role is focused on Health Economics Analysis and Strategy. For this reason the most important factor to be successful in securing this position is demonstrated expertise with pharmaco-economic analyses, patient-reported outcomes and other studies, and their application to the evaluation of pharmaceutical products.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- To support the commercialisation of our clients products by optimising market access and market share especially with regard to health economic and health political aspects;
- To guarantee the successful realisation of our product-related Core Value Dossiers in cooperation with Global Medical Affairs, Marketing and Clinical Development;
- To develop, support and enforce new health economic models for new products and to adapt existing ones to various countries;
- To develop and support patient reported outcome studies and support the preparation of HTA dossiers;
- To ensure the cross functional cooperation with our product teams regarding all questions about Health Economics, value propositions and reimbursement;
- To develop and implement local health economic, communicative and publishing strategies according to our European plans;
- To expand our clients network of Key Opinion Leader in the health economic sector;
- To collaborate with local HEOR colleagues to ensure alignment of value messages and research strategies.
What we are looking for in a candidate:
- University degree in Health Economics / Medicine / Science with focus on Epidemiology / Pharmaceutical Sciences or related with experience in health economics. A relevant post graduate qualification is advantageous, but not essential
- Demonstrated expertise with pharmaco-economic analyses, patient-reported outcomes and other studies, and their application to evaluation of pharmaceutical products.
- At least 2 years experience in the pharmaceutical or health insurance industry or in a health economics consulting agency
- Knowledge of local reimbursement guidelines in the public heath sector
- Strong ability to assess the economical and health political environment and a keen sense to anticipate new trends and market opportunities
- An excellent written and oral command of English
- High degree of computer literacy and knowledge of computer modelling (e.g. Markov Models)
- Excellent analytical skills, judgment and problem solving skills
