Postdoctoral Fellowships: University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill/Duke University Medical Center

Location: North Carolina, USA

Two-year Postdoctoral Fellowships in Mental Health & Substance Abuse Systems and Services Research funded through the National Research Service Awards by the NIMH. Faculty from several schools affiliated with the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at UNC and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke. The program provides an opportunity to gain experience in applying research methods to the organization, integration, financing, utilization, quality, and outcomes of mental health and substance abuse services; public policies for ensuring access to such services; criminal justice-mental health interfaces; and violence, severe mental disorders and the law. Well-funded research environment with excellent opportunities for faculty collaboration and publication. Program seeks to recruit new or recent PhDs who are looking to develop/strengthen mental health services/policy research skills. Up to four fellowships are available each year. Stipends for 2010-2011 year: $37,368 to $51,552 (depending on years of post-PhD experience) with additional compensation for research-related work possible.
