Nature of Work

The Department of Health Systems, Management and Policy in the Colorado School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate level. We seek candidates with expertise in one or more areas of health services research. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, health economics, health services research, health policy, medical sociology, demography, organizational research, medicine, law and health outcomes and comparative effectiveness research. The successful candidate will conduct rigorous, externally funded research and teach and advise students in one or more of the Department’s graduate degree programs. Candidates with experience or interest in obtaining extramural grants to fund their research are particularly encouraged to apply. There are also opportunities to collaborate with the Colorado Health Outcomes Program (COHO), the Children’s Outcomes Research (COR) program, and the Denver VA HSR&D REAP Center.

This hiring is part of a series of recruitments for the department with the goal of building a dynamic, multi- disciplinary faculty engaged in cutting edge health policy research. The Department currently offers two graduate degrees: MPH and Ph.D. The Colorado School of Public Health (CSPH) is the only school of public health in the nine-state region of the Rocky Mountain west. CSPH is physically located on the new Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver, Colorado, with the medical, nursing, pharmacy and dental schools of the University of Colorado. The school is comprised of students and faculty at University of Colorado Denver, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado. Minimum Requirements

Appointment at the Assistant level requires:

  • A research-oriented doctoral degree in economics, health services research, public health, health management or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated potential to establish an independent program of research.
  • Research experience in health or health care delivery. Appointment at the Associate level requires:
  • A research doctoral degree in economics, health services research, public health or related discipline.
  • An established independent program of extramurally funded research.
  • Strong track record a research publications.
