The University of Georgia’s Department of Public Administration and Policy in the School of Public and International Affairs invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. The position requires a research and teaching focus on public policy. Ideal candidates will have a background in economics and the ability to teach microeconomics, an applied field in economics relevant to public policy, and other quantitative skills. Candidates should demonstrate a substantive policy specialization; while the field of specialization is open, particular emphasis will be placed on candidates with research interests in health economics, public economics, industrial organization, regulatory economics, and urban economics. Ideal qualifications include a Ph.D. in economics, though candidates with doctoral degrees in public policy, public administration, political science, or a related discipline are also encouraged to apply. The starting date for the position is August 2010. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, three letters of reference, transcript of graduate work (for applicants who have not yet held a faculty position), writing sample, and teaching evaluations, if available.
