The York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC) at the University of York is seeking to appoint a new Director to lead this highly respected health economics group.
YHEC provides consultancy and research in health economics to the NHS and the pharmaceutical and health care industries and combines rigorous research standards with efficient project delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a highly respected health economics business at one of the world’s best known academic centres.
The new Director will be expected to build on recent strong performance and to continue to grow YHEC’s income through identifying new business opportunities. He/she will have the strategic vision and flair for innovation to take YHEC into the new and challenging consultancy environment of the future.
The Role:
This position is primarily a strategic leadership role, with responsibility for the further advancement of the Consortium and for leading a team of highly motivated researchers. The Director will take overall responsibility for income generation and will work with senior staff to identify and respond to private and public sector requests for consultancy and research work. He/she will also lead marketing and promotional activities to raise the profile of the organisation and win business.
The ideal candidate:
He/she will have proven leadership skills with his/her own personal track record of high level research in health economics, health services research or a related field. He/she will have a thorough understanding of the health sector, gained in the UK or a country with similar systems, as well as experience of managing a research or consultancy team.
An attractive six figure remuneration package is available for the successful candidate and will include a performance related bonus.
