Associate Director (health economics): Edinburgh University

Applications are invited for a senior health economist at Edinburgh University. The appointee to this new post will develop and lead health economics research in the Edinburgh MRC Clinical Trials Methodology Hub, develop new methodology and techniques in health economics through leading funding bids for the Hub and growing a team of health economicsresearchers. The post holder will provide expert health economic advice in the set-up phase of randomised trials and other study designs and will build up a team of health economists to work on these studies, through Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit and the Health Services Research Unit.
Applicants should hold a Masters level or higher qualificationwith a significant health economic component; have at least 10 years experience in health economics; have extensive experience of the healtheconomic aspects of the design, conduct and analyses of randomisedtrials, including the appropriate regulatory guidance; and have experience of management of staff and projects, and developing organisational structures, processes and policies.
The post is funded by the Chief Scientist Office and is available full-time for 3 years in the first instance.
The post based in Public Health Sciences, Edinburgh University, which is located in central Edinburgh.
