The Departments of Ophthalmology and Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at The University of Western Ontario invite applications for a full-time limited-term or tenured track faculty position in health economics applied to ocular research. The Department of Ophthalmology is known for its excellence in clinical care, medical and post-graduate teaching, surgical innovation research and clinical trials. This position will strengthen its expanding clinical research program.
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. relevant to Health Economics, Epidemiology, or Health Services Research or a related discipline. Postdoctoral experience is recommended along with a track record of publication. The successful candidate will build their research program with focus on health economic research regarding eye health and health economic assessment of ophthalmic health technology, especially related to diagnostic testing. The workload will be unbalanced in favour of research, but some teaching will be required at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Therefore, candidates should provide information on their teaching record.
This will be a 5 year limited term or tenured track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful applicant will be appointed in the Department of Ophthalmology with a cross-appointment in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics.
