We are looking for:
Cook Medical competes in the highly competitive medical device field. To secure our success, it is necessary that we understand all aspects of health care in the markets in which we compete. This includes understanding how our hospital and physician customers are reimbursed for the service they provide. To build our capabilities in this area, we are looking for a well-qualified and engaged employee for our European Reimbursement Team.
You will be a key player in a qualified team of engaged employees who are taking care of hospital and physician reimbursement issues in Europe. Your main focus will be on Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Job profile:
- Keep an unsurpassed understanding of the reimbursement systems
- inpatient and outpatient
- Oversee reimbursement applications
- Investigate and develop new business opportunities
- Stay updated on HTA and country specific regulations
- Draw attention to general policy issues
- Work with the relevant trade associations
- Serve as the primary source of reimbursement support for sales representatives and customers
- Support Cook sponsored clinical and health economic trials
Employee profile:
- You possess good oral and written communication skills in German and English
- You are familiar with DRG-based hospital reimbursement systems
- You are able and willing to travel, primarily within the EU
- You have a health economic background (preferably)
- You have experience in governmental healthcare administration and/or in hospital administration (preferably)
- You have clinical experience (preferably) German Speaking Reimbursement Specialist Consultant in Health Policy and Health Economic Issues
- You have gained reimbursement experience from working in a pharmaceutical or medical device company (preferably)
- Perhaps you also speak either Dutch, Spanish or an Eastern European language

Associate Director of Health Economics and Outcomes
Location: Toronto, Canada
Overall purpose/major function
• Develop timely, appropriate health economic data to support
reimbursement initiatives for all products
• Manage economic and outcomes research projects in support of international and local pricing
and reimbursement programs
• Provide interpretative expertise foreconomic/outcomes research data as needed by internal/external customers
• Mentor junior associates to improve skill sets
Minimum requirements
• In-depth understanding of outcomes research and
epidemiological study design.
• Working knowledge of biostatisticsand data analysis
• Capabilities in health economic modeling
• Advanced communication capabilities
• Experience in government and patient advocacy lobbying
• Masters Degree in epidemiology, health economics, health policy
• 10 years work experience in health industry
Responsibilities
• Implement local health economic and outcomes
research strategies that support the overall reimbursement strategies
• Design health economic and outcomes research studies that are
scientifically sound and timely
• Collaborate with International medical affairs to incorporate health economic measures into clinical
trials
• Analyze and report results from health economics outcomes
research studies, including publication and presentation of data
• Provide input into global health economics and outcomes research
studies and programs.
• Communicate results of health economic and
outcomes research studies to internal and external customers
• Recruit and manage investigators/vendors to conduct health
economics and outcomes research studies
