About the Job:
The MIA is a rapidly expanding Indian NGO based in New Delhi. In order to keep pace with our growth, we seek to appoint a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer. The M&E officer will lead MIA’s efforts on systemic M&E activities on all of our projects, and will be responsible for conducting internal evaluations for MIA activities.
Job Description:
The incumbent will report to the Director (Research & Training), and will deal with matters related to the Academy’s training activities, including:
- Develop the overall M&E framework for MIA projects, including annual reviews, participatory impact assessments, process monitoring and lessons-learned workshops.
- Facilitate the designing and carrying out of participatory baseline/needs assessments.
- Verification, recording and reporting of progress against targets and standards.
- Prepare consolidated progress and final donor reports in accordance with approved reporting guidelines.
- Analyze reports to identify key issues and effects and recommend corrective measures for identified problems.
- Build the capacity of MIA staff in monitoring and evaluating project activities.
Qualifications required:
- A commitment to MIA’s mission and values;
- Masters degree in statistics, social science or related field;
- At least 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation;
- Proficient in the use of computer systems and processes (the MIA is transitioning towards an open-source environment);
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English;

About the Job:
The MIA and its partners are about to embark on an EU-funded, multi-year, action- research project on community based health insurance (CBHI) in India.
This project will aim to close the knowledge gap on aspects important for the successful implementation of CBHI. It will do so through a set of controlled field experiments through which CBHI is implemented in villages of two states of India.
Rigorous longitudinal research will document the learning in order to make it available for replication elsewhere. We will apply quantitative research along with in depth qualitative research and spatial data.
Job Description:
The incumbent will report to the Director (Research & Training), and is expected to handle the following tasks:
- Head a team of 3 researchers working on the project
- Conduct quantitative, qualitative and spatial analysis of baseline data and subsequent research waves.
- Help conceptualizing and developing tools and methodologies to measure the impact of microinsurance;
- Assist in the preparation of reports and publications on the impact of microinsurance;
- Conduct field research if and when needed;
- Any other related task as instructed by the supervisor. Qualifications required:

- Ph.D in a relevant field, preferably Economics, Statistics, Sociology or related disciplines, which offers a strong methodological background;
- 10+ years experience in research with exposure to a variety of research methodologies;

The MIA is a rapidly expanding Indian NGO based in New Delhi. In order to keep pace
with our growth in projects, we seek to appoint three (3) project managers for new
implementation projects in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The incumbents
will report to the Director (Operations), and will deal with all matters related to
smooth running of the respective implementation projects.
Specific tasks include:
- Manage project staff, including creating detailed work plans and timelines
- Ensure timely delivery of tasks for smooth project functioning
- Respond to upcoming challenges in the implementation by drawing upon the necessary resources and team members
- Supervise the implementation of technical assistance
- Report internally to Director and externally to partners and donors as required
- Develop with project staff new concept notes for project development
- Monitor and anticipate/identify project performance issues and address problems
- Develop with project staff best practices
- Performance of other duties of a similar nature as required.
Qualifications required:
Above all else, we are looking for a person with solid knowledge of the development
sector and experience managing complex process with multiple stakeholders. Attention to details and ability to plan ahead a multi-stage implementation process will be essential for this job.

The incumbent will report to the Director (Operations), and will deal with all matters related to recording generic aspects of managing and implementing projects following the MIA model of community-based micro health insurance. Specific tasks include:
Of primary importance:
- Communicate with MIA staff members on various projects and teams at the MIA to collect, analyze, and synthesize information on their projects’ progress and results.
- Document and catalog the procedures for executing the various training projects at the MIA using a variety of communication tools and strategies, including graphic and visual aids, written reports, and presentations.
- Formulate guidelines, templates, and supporting documents to streamline project implementation, and aid team members in their responsibilities in the projects.
- Coordinate and consult with Directors and MIA staff to address issues of project variability, and to design resources that are congruent with the organization’s structure and project vision.
Other tasks:
- Maintain archives of current and prior project resources.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the various training and research projects at MIA.
- Review and update existing documentation on a consistent and regular basis to ensure functionality, relevance, and usability of these supplemental project resources.
