Southampton Health Technology Assessments Centre (SHTAC) is a leading centre for health technology assessment and health services research with an influential role in determining national health policy through its research programme. SHTAC has expertise in health economics/modelling, evidence synthesis and epidemiology. As part of an expanding research programme, SHTAC is looking to strengthen its multi-disciplinary research team with this new post. We are looking for a person to join a cohesive research team working on economic evaluations through primary research and evidence synthesis/modelling to address major policy questions concerning the use of drugs, devices, procedures, public health programmes and other health interventions. Also you will work with colleagues on a programme of research on methodological developments related to economic evaluations and health technology assessment.
If you have a first or second class degree, a masters level or PhD qualification and/or relevant research experience in health economics/modelling, operational research or medical statistics in the academic or commercial sectors, and are enthusiastic about developing your career, this is an opportunity to join a growing team developing an influential research programme. Opportunities for further training and postgraduate study are encouraged and supported.
Appointment will be made on one of the following scales: Research Fellow - £27,183-£33,432 and the Senior Research Fellow- £34,435-£43,622 according to experience. The appointment will be until March 2011 in the first instance with good prospects for further extension.
