The Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC Lausanne) invites applications for a position of
Assistant Professor in Health Economics or Health Econometrics
This position is being advertised within the framework of the Swiss School of Public Health+ (SSPH+), a national pole of excellence in Public Health and Health Economics founded by six Swiss universities.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics. They must provide evidence of a strong commitment to international-level research in theoretical and/or applied Health Economics or Health Econometrics, in the form of publications related to the health care context in the leading journals in Economics and Econometrics. Candidates should demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively with other scholars and with interdisciplinary groups. They should have a high commitment for teaching at postgraduate level.

The successful candidate will be required to teach and conduct research at various levels (in particular Master of advanced studies and PhD) within the Institute of Health Economics and Management (IEMS). The main focus of the post-holder’s research will be on the fields of Health Economics or Health Econometrics.
The candidate is expected to be fluent in English and should be able to teach in French after a reasonable adaptation period.
At the present time financing of this position is granted at least until the end of 2011.
Start date: February 1, 2009 (or any convenient date as early as possible after February 2009).
