Trustee Lecturer – Health Faculty : Indiana University School of Public and Environment Affairs (SPEA), Indianapolis campus

Overview: The Indiana University School of Public and Environment Affairs (SPEA), Indianapolis campus, has an opening for a Trustee Lecturer position. This position will teach in the Health Program area but may also teach in the area of Public Affairs. SPEA is a multi-disciplinary division of Indiana University, established as a professional school committed to excellence in teaching, research, and civic engagement that addresses critical issues of public affairs and policy. With more than 75 faculty on the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses, SPEA is one of the largest schools in the United States offering programs in public affairs. SPEA IUPUI programs in criminal justice and nonprofit management are ranked third and fourth in the nation, respectively, by U.S. News and World Reports, and SPEA is home to accredited Master of Health Administration and undergraduate Environmental Health Science programs. SPEA IUPUI is located in thriving downtown Indianapolis within walking distance of the state capitol and several museums and sports facilities.
Qualifications: A minimum of a MHA, MBA, MPA or MPH with teaching and/or professional training experience.
Duties: The Trustee Lecturer position is dedicated to teaching. SPEA trustee lecturers are responsible for teaching 24 credit hours per year to undergraduate and graduate students. This is not a tenured track position nor will it convert to a tenure-track position. Hence, there are no research requirements, and the service requirements will relate to teaching and student learning. There is the potential for promotion to Senior Lecturer.

- Health Administration Seminar
- Legal Aspects of Healthcare Administration
- Public Management
- Nonprofit Management
- Human Resources
It is anticipated that the Trustee Lecturer may create additional course offerings under the guidance of the Program Director and in agreement with the Health Faculty.
