Description:

The Sr. Manager, Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research will perform the following functions in support of his/her assigned therapeutic area within Abbott’s Pharmaceutical Products Group: * Assist in developing pricing and reimbursement strategy, technology appraisal and outcomes strategies, and writing a Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) development plan * Partner with the clinical and commercial teams to develop protocols for HEOR studies * Oversee HEOR data analyses, interpret and present results * Generate economic models, abstracts, manuscripts and “customer friendly” tools to support value proposition * Present the results of HEOR studies to internal and external customers * Design retrospective and prospective HEOR studies * Interact with clinical, brand marketing, MCO, Health Policy and AI groups to succinctly work on a common HEOR strategic goal * Develop AMCP and international dossiers for formulary submission and reimbursement * Manage project budget

Qualifications:

The qualified candidate will have a PhD/MD/PharmD with 2+ years of HEOR experience in the pharmaceutical industry or an MS degree in health sciences or health economics field with 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or other health care related industry. Must have strong knowledge of health economics and outcomes research. Preferably have knowledge of both US and international health care systems. Strategic thinking, operational excellence and good communication skills.

Job Description: An exciting opportunity exists to join the HEOR department in the business unit to execute global health economic & outcomes research strategies that demonstrate the value of our brands.

Key outcomes involves:

  • Execute HE&OR strategies that demonstrate product value and support product commercialization activities including pricing and reimbursement
  • Manage the integration of economic and quality of life parameters into the Phase II and III development and brand optimization programs.
  • Manage the efficient and timely development of HE&OR deliverables (core value dossier, publications, and core economic models.
  • Represent HE&OR on cross-functional teams including: International Project Teams, International Clinical Teams, Brand Teams, and Value Demonstration Teams.
  • Ensure of HE&OR strategy is aligned with Commercial and Market Access strategies.
  • Coordinate HE&OR research strategies including integration of key HE&OR needs for clinical development program.
  • Effectively communicate research findings internally and externally.

Minimum requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific discipline plus graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in relevant discipline including health economics, epidemiology, health services research, biostatistics, or public health.
  • English fluent German and French a plus
  • 1-2 years conducting health economic and outcomes research for pharmaceutical products in the pharma industry or other closely related area (eg, contract research organization)
  • Strong technical knowledge in HE&OR study methods

Qualifications: Must have advance training in HEOR, 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, CRO, academia or other health related consulting company. Must possess excellent technical and people management skills. Must have previous management and leadership experience, Ph.D. or MD with training in health services research
