Research Analyst: i3 Innovus
Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada
The Research Analyst is involved in all aspects of research activities including technical support, planning and conducting economic and outcomes evaluations in healthcare research, as well as reporting of studies. Through collaboration with researchers throughout the organization, you will be provided with the opportunity to learn and refine your research skills during all aspects of project execution.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the preparation of final reports, manuscripts, posters and presentations.
- Assist with design and development of economic models in collaboration with clients, clinical experts, and health economists.
- Perform programming, statistical analysis and/or modeling.
- Assist with the preparation of protocols and study design reports.
- Prepare literature reviews and scientific overviews.
- Design questionnaires, case report forms and other data collection tools.
- Obtain data for use in health economic studies.
Experience:
- A postgraduate degree in health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics or related research field.
- Training and/or experience in health economics and/or outcomes research.
- Training and/or experience in quantitative analytical methods and computer programming.
- Experience with the following software as appropriate: statistical (SAS, STATA), database, spreadsheet (Excel, VBA), decision support, graphics and text processing.
- Established ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Established ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Health Economist: Dymaxium Inc.

We are currently seeking Health Economists to review, analyze and develop technical content / models while leading projects from conception to final delivery.
Fulltime opportunity with immediate start. Compensation includes benefits plus vacation and applicable bonuses. Flexible work options. Work from Toronto office; occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Application of various health economics methodologies to build and deliver precise and efficient models.
- Review all clinical and economic content.
- Assist in development of economic content (model flow, technical manuals).
- Conceptualize, develop, and technically build models based on customer direction, previously published models or external expert input.
- Validate data calculations and accuracy of models throughout the development process.
- Liaise directly with clients and project team.
Qualifications
- B.S., M.S., and/or Pharm.D degree in health economics, health services research, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics or related field is preferred.
- Previous academic or work experience in pharmacoeconomics.
- Strong understanding of all outcomes research related content (health economic decision & analytic models, research studies, economic value communication).
- Well versed in all aspects of clinical/healthcare disease states, such as epidemiology, management and therapeutics.
- General understanding of healthcare systems, health care policy, and pharmaceutical drug development pipeline.
- Demonstrated computer skills including in depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and decision analysis software.
- Proficient in utilizing software applications to construct and present economic models.

Position Summary: Dynamic and creative position that utilizes a statistical skill set and significant SQL or SAS programming with analytical business experience. Position is responsible for the development, testing and production of outcomes analyses for both Pharmacy and Disease Management programs using customer claims data. Responsible for all phases of complex analytical projects, including study design, data extraction, analyses, and presentation of results. The position requires a practical knowledge of hypothesis, significance testing, categorical data analyses, and regression-based modeling techniques (both linear and logistic).
Requires candidate to be results-driven and have the ability to “sell” your recommendations to management with well-considered implementation strategies. Position will also be responsible for collaborating to use predictive modeling to assess risk to financial guarantees.
Qualifications:
Independent problem solving; self-direction. Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of working with others to translate data into reported outcomes. Ability to work well under pressure and in adverse situations. Must have the ability to work successfully in a constantly changing environment. Ability to work directly with both other employees and customers and/or outside vendors. Ability to follow orders and instructions of supervisors.
Education: Bachelor degree in finance, information systems, mathematics, or statistics with coursework in programming required. Healthcare claims data or industry experience preferred.
Experience: Experience using relational databases. Experience using a database query language (at least intermediate level). Experience as a SAS or SQL developer (at least intermediate level). Experience with data mining tools and/or predictive modeling tools (optional/preferred). Financial experience recommended.
