Strategic Market Access Manager, Focus on Private Insurer Reimbursement

Background

We are currently recruiting for a Market Access/Reimbursement manager with experience in private insurance reimbursement. Our client is a pharmaceutical company with an exceptional portfolio across multiple sectors and a truly global outlook. This is a highly strategic international role that will see the successful candidate liaising with and influencing KOLs globally.

Primary Duties

In this position you will lead the investigation of, and strategy for gaining reimbursement from private insurance and health care providers, leading our clients strategy on these matters on both a national and international level, supporting reimbursement activities at an affiliate level for key locations, e.g. China, Russia etc.

The successful candidate will also work internationally to gain support and work with Reinsurers to secure company objectives. This is a position that will open up massive amount opportunities for you within one of the world’s best companies to work for.

Qualifications

  • A significant amount of Market Access, Pricing Reimbursement or private Health Insurance Experience.
  • An advanced degree in a relevant subject.
  • Good knowledge of business or business principles.

Overview

My client is a global pharmaceutical consultancy with operations in over 30 EMEA countries alone. Health Economics and Outcomes Research is a key area within the consultancy division with a main focus on Health Economics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research and Biostatistics. My client as has an increasing focus in Pricing and Market Access.

Analysts are regularly involved in outcomes research, economic analysis of the possible impact of health care interventions and the natural history of a disease. They provide high quality, timely solutions to meet our client needs. Assignments typically require problem solving, outcomes research and economic analysis, communication and dissemination of our findings.

Key responsibilities

  • Supported by experienced Health Economists and Consultants
    1. Organize and conduct high quality primary and secondary research
    2. Support the project team in developing and communicating health economic analyses or environment analyses to clients
    3. Perform tasks according to skills and experience with support from senior health economists:
  • input to/develop health economic models and support materials
    1. input to/develop outcomes research projects and support materials e.g. protocols
    2. support systematic review and meta analysis projects
    3. review literature to source the required inputs to health economics analyses
    4. write reports and manuscripts

Qualifications

A good grounding in health care research, economics, health economics, or a related discipline is essential - this may be through academic study or gained from on-the-job experience.

  • BA/BSc in science or economics or related discipline essential;
  • An MSc/MPhil/PhD in economics/health economics health services research or a relevant related area is desirable.
  • Post graduate
  • Excellent numerate and quantitative
  • Basic understanding of outcomes research and/or economic theory with preferably some applied experience
  • Some commercial awareness - basic understanding of the health technology and pharmaceutical industry
  • Good team based interpersonal skills but also able to work independently
  • Able to deliver high quality work within timeline
  • Competency in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint and an interest in learning relevant decision-support and statistical packages
