Director of Health Economics and Reimbursement / Medical Device and Healthcare Organisation

Location: The Netherlands

The Role:

Together with the Sr. Director HE & Reimbursement, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining international reimbursement strategies and adapting health economic models and tools

Core focus:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a reimbursement pricing strategy for the International Division.
  • Acts as co-ordinator and first point of contact for Health Economics and Reimbursement initiatives.
  • Acquires a deep understanding of the health sector, social security and insurance system in each territory
  • Manage and co-ordinates an overview/accessible knowledge database of the above mentioned systems, with a particular focus on product reimbursement.
  • Establishes a close and productive working relationship with General Managers, Marketing and Sales Managers, Finance colleagues, central function Marketing and Product Management / Clinical Marketing departments.
  • Ensures the above mentioned relationships are constructive by staying on top of where reimbursement efforts are at, ensuring all necessary parties are involved and by taking the lead where appropriate.
  • Maintains high visibility and productive and pro-active relationships with the relevant authorities involved with re-imbursement claims together with local management. Further to this, acts as the liaison between company and these bodies where appropriate.
  • Provides follow up to appropriate departments to ensure communication regarding reimbursement activities, requests for information and other related issues.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with professional medical devices organisations and reports on relevant information provided.
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of changes in legislation, social security / insurance systems and processes affecting re-imbursement activities by reviewing relevant articles and other appropriate t o information sources.
  • Supports the Health Economics Department in the US to develop new tools and ensures that these tools can be used in other territories
  • Actively searches for new possibilities to prove clinical and health economical benefit for our products
  • Completes all other duties and projects that may arise from time to time as requested.   What is Required:  
  • At least 3-5 years progressive business experience in the health care environment in an International setting (English speaking). More specifically, this experience must include work relating to product use and pricing etc.
  • Experience in the reimbursement claim process.
  • Proven track record of establishing effective relationships with Insurance and Social Security Authorities.
  • Previous experience at Manager level in an international medical or health care company viewed favourably.
  • Proven competence and track record of high achievement in an international environment.
  • Good working knowledge of finance and pricing in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
