Social Scientist, Health Economist or Health Policy Researcher: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Social Scientist, Health Economist or Health Policy Researcher: Serves as a scientific officer in the Prevention Development and Evaluation Branch (PDEB), Division of Violence Prevention (DVP), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC), providing expert consultation on health policy research related to the prevention of child maltreatment, sexual violence, intimate partner violence, youth violence, or suicide prevention. Develops grants, contracts or cooperative agreements with institutions of higher education, community-based organizations and other governmental and non-governmental health agencies. Independently designs and conducts research to examine the cost and effectiveness of policies designed to prevent violence. PhD or other terminal degree in criminology, economics, health policy, political science, sociology or related field required.
