The University of Michigan College of Pharmacy is pleased to announce the availability of a faculty position in the Department of Clinical, Social and Administrative Sciences and Director of the Center for Medication Use, Policy and Economics.

The Department’s scope encompasses interdisciplinary research addressing medication policy, clinical use, and the economic consequences associated with decision?making by patients, health professionals and organizations. Both an independent research program and collaborative efforts are expected.

The Department supports and is enhanced by an active PhD program in the Social and Administrative Sciences discipline and is active in the presentation of scholarly papers and publications. The faculty member will have teaching and mentorship responsibilities in both the PharmD and PhD programs.

The University of Michigan Center for Medication Use, Policy and Economics is a research unit responsible for soliciting, securing and administering the execution of public and private research funding which strives to apply scholarly research to the science of responsible medication use. The secondary mission is to support the research, teaching and service activities of the academic units of the core and affiliated faculty. Faculty associates of the Center have established research records in patient satisfaction, consumer behavior, organizational behavior, drug use review, drug product selection, medication adherence, pharmacy and therapeutic committee and formulary management.

Successful applicants should have an earned doctorate in their area of expertise and experience in research leadership and collaboration. Evaluation of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Manager, Health Economics & Health Outcomes

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada / Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The key responsibilities will include management of Health Economic and Outcomes Research activities. The individual will be involved early in the development phases of research and throughout the product’s lifecycle.

This individual will develop and integrate economic and outcomes in order to optimize reimbursement (public, private, hospital) throughout the product’s lifecycle.

  • Core member on multifunctional brand teams.
  • Participate and contribute on medical product teams.
  • Collaborate with a variety of departments (i.e. Clinical research, Market Access, Marketing, Market Research, Medical affairs) in order to maximize economic strategies.
  • Participate on Global teams and ensure that Canadian requirements are met through Global initiatives and collaborations.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Health Economics or other related science degree.
  • Minimum 2-5 years within a similar position in Pharmaceutical industry or Academia in Health Economics & outcomes research, clinical research or other related sciences.

The individual will need to have excellent strategic, leadership, organizational and planning skills. This will be mixed with a solid knowledge in Health Economics and Outcomes Research and an understanding of the overall Health Care environment (i.e. Pricing, Reimbursement). Innovative in development of research proposals that will maximize reimbursement success and product value. In addition, the individual will have demonstrated his/her interpersonal and communication skills. Team-oriented attitude; ability to work under pressure, to meet tight deadlines and to deal with ambiguity; sound judgment; collaboration with Global and local teams.
