Director of Reimbursement (Europe)

Location: Ireland

This is a key new position for my client who is looking to develop their HE&OR department. You would be responsible for providing specific strategic recommendations for the EU and Rest of the World. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the EU Healthcare systems and be able to develop a KOL network.

Main duties

  • Prepare Strategic reimbursement initiative recommendations for all my client’s biotech products
  • Where appropriate build and manage a highly effective field based Regional Management team
  • Work closely with Medical Affairs, marketing, legal teams and with government and policy departments
  • Develop proactive strategies for relationships with key public entities and private payers policy decision makers in European regions and Rest of World
  • Coordinates external reimbursement consulting project efforts
  • Collaborates with EU product managers to identify needs and opportunities for outcomes research and pharmacoeconomics data
  • Work with health economist to identify research that informs and supports the value propositions of my client’s products

Skills and abilities

  • Background in working with in Reimbursement in pharmaceutical or consultancy organisations
  • An understanding of the impact of policy and political influences on policy coverage decisions
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge in coverage, coding and reimbursement methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, writing and presenting.

Market Access Manager

Location: Berkshire, England, UK

This role is working for a Top 5 Pharma based in the Home Counties. An opportunity has arisen to join this outstanding team in the newly created role of Market Access Manager. As part of the Management Team this role will report directly into the Country Director and will help to shape their business and sustain profitable success in a constantly changing Health Care Environment.

Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Horizon scanning for opportunities within the healthcare environment.
  • Provision and selection of alternate funding options.
  • Work with Health Economic Data to fully justify the high value proposition of my clients portfolio.
  • Managing relationships and a national pricing structure for Trusts, Hubs and Buying Groups.
  • Working with specialist groups to ensure sufficient funding through payment by results.
  • Working with Shared Service to ensure a co-ordinated approach to the tendering process and contract pricing.
  • Regular updates to Management team and training of national team on national and regional platform.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Manage and analyse complexity of data, communicating results in a digestible format.
  • Use initiative, innovation and the implementation of strategic marketing plans to move the business forward.
  • Identify customer and patient valued business opportunities.
  • Have a strong competence in developing commercial arguments for clinical and non-clinically based customers.
  • Contribute to the development of the Business Plans.
  • Work with the Sales Force to ensure they have the skills in selling the value proposition through the appropriate training.
  • Understand financial impact on decision-making processes.

Experience and Qualities Preferred:

  • First class communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly skilled at creating and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Clear evidence of ability to analyse and understand financial and business data to aid decision-making.
  • Trained to apply to advanced degree software package skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrable ability to work through others to achieve success.
