Health Care Economics Analyst: WorkSafeBC

As health care economics analyst you’ll be responsible for:
- Strategic, tactical, and operational information management
- Developing projects to define strategic plans, outline major client requests, and improve business engineering
- Recommending projects for inclusion in budget
- Establishing measurement and evaluation processes
- Acting as an agent of change in the initiation and facilitation of strategic change
- Combining documented science and advanced analytics to provide the tools and information to improve health outcomes and contain costs
- Preparing comprehensive research analyses for program evaluation and research projects
- Writing conceptual and technically detailed reports on research findings
- Collecting and analyzing health-related data
- Participating in health-rule development and coordinating the contract review process, including data collection, analysis, and formulation recommendations
- Application awareness in chronic-disease economics
- Economic evaluation of cost-of-illness studies, cost-benefit studies and cost-effectiveness analysis
As a qualified candidate, you will ideally possess:
- Detailed knowledge of public databases related to health care, including chronic disease
- Comprehensive knowledge of economic and statistical concepts
- Ability to oversee, develop, and participate in strategic information planning activities and business for specific client areas involving
- Managing project activities and deliverables
- Planning and conducting/facilitating meetings with external parties
- Developing tools and conducting interviews
- Documenting deliverables, analyzing problems and opportunities
- Soliciting feedback, conducting post-completion reviews
- Promoting understanding of the process and communicating results
- Bachelor’s degree in economics
- Minimum 3-6 years’ related health-care experience on project work
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

An exciting opportunity exists within GSK’s Global Health Outcomes group for a HO manager to be based in Stockley Park. The role is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development of strategies and evidence packages to demonstrate the value of key assets in GSK’s pipeline. With a primary target of securing global pricing, reimbursement and access in an increasingly difficult market environment, these jobs have a high profile within GSK and offer excellent opportunities for the right candidate to demonstrate their effectiveness and develop their own capabilities.
Your role responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement Health Outcomes strategies within disease/at product level to support the commercial objectives of GSK products during development and launch.
Research and represent insights from the global pricing reimbursement and access environment to support the strategic direction of assets and develop appropriate evidence throughout research and development.
Provide relevant outcome strategies, to develop, translate and analyse patient reported outcomes to support effective registration and product differentiation.
Represent HO and manage relationships within matrix bodies to ensure provision of HO information to support internal decision-making during product development and commercialisation.
Execute the funding principles and effectively drive the budget building process for HO projects with relevant sponsors.
- Represent GHO at a disease and product level at external scientific meetings and forums.
Basic qualifications:
Qualified candidates will possess the following training and experience:
- MSc, PhD, MD, MPH, PharmD.
- Experience in health outcomes or a related field.
- Experience of working within, or for, the pharmaceutical industry.
- Business knowledge, financial acumen and project management experience.
- Knowledge of tactical application of Health Outcomes research at the therapy and product level.
Preferred qualifications:
Demonstrated behavioural competencies will include: strong matrix, interpersonal and influencing skills, customer focus, leadership, demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external health outcomes key opinion leaders and building partnerships.
