Fellowship (2 years): The Institute for Child Health Policy at the University of Florida

Location: Gainesville, Florida, USA

The Institute for Child Health Policy at the University of Florida is a multidisciplinary institute with Federal and State grant funding to conduct research and program evaluation. Institute for Child Health Policy faculty and collaborators include health services researchers, economists, statisticians, epidemiologists, psychologists, physicians, and sociologists. Our program is innovative and provides hands-on research experience with mentors focusing on publication in peer-reviewed journals, government reporting, grant writing, and conference presentation.

This two-year fellowship trains recent doctorates in Health Services Research, Psychology, or the Social Sciences and more experienced doctorates who are seeking to develop a research focus in health policy analysis. Applicants should have excellent academic credentials and be interested in, or have some experience with, child health services research. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Areas of faculty research strength and interest include: factors contributing to adolescent risk behaviors, financing strategies to reimburse providers caring for children with special health care needs, determinants of quality and outcomes of care, racial and ethnic disparities in child health outcomes, palliative care, and the development of econometic methods for empirical health policy analysis.
