Health Economics Manager: Roche Molecular Diagnostics

Health Economics Manager

This manager will provide strategic leadership for the development of economic strategies and the global evidence/value dossiers in support of affiliate pricing, reimbursement and funding activities. This will entail coordinating product-specific work of health economics, outcomes research, reimbursement and strategic pricing experts, as well as affiliates in the major health care markets in preparation of local health technology assessments and pricing/reimbursement negotiations. Other tasks will include evaluating clinical trials for inclusion of recommended economic endpoints, supporting the design of health economic tools, and aligning the Lifecycle and International Business Teams on economic/payer strategy matters.

An MSc, MPH, PhD, ScD, Pharm.D., MBA or a related advanced degree is required, along with three years’ experience in pricing, reimbursement or health economics within the Pharmaceutical or Diagnostics industry, with payer organizations or as a consultant. You must have practical experience in applying pharmaeconomic, health economic or outcomes research to facilitate/shorten market access; strong organizational and project management skills; and the ability to travel. Experience in the major health care markets dealing with payers and Health Technology Assessment agencies is preferred.

The RAND Corporation is accepting applications for one or more postdoctoral fellowships in Population Studies, pending funding approval. This competitive program enables outstanding scholars to sharpen their analytic skills and advance their research agenda in the field of population studies. Scholars come from various disciplines including economics, demography, sociology, and psychology.

Housed within RAND’s Labor and Population Program, the program blends formal and informal training and extensive collaboration with distinguished researchers without teaching obligations.

One-year fellowships are renewable for a second year and provide a competitive stipend and health insurance. Fellows must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and must have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline before they begin the program. The program is open to new scholars, as well as individuals who have some research experience or are on leave from an academic position. Fellowships are initially for a period of one year, renewable for a second year.

Start date within 2008 is flexible. Applicants are requested to state their preferred and earliest available start date(s). The successful applicant must accept the fellowship by April 30, 2008 but may request a later start date. Fellowships in Tobacco Control Research: The University of California, San Francisco, Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education (CTCRE)

The University of California, San Francisco, Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education (CTCRE) invites applications for fellowships in policy-relevant, tobacco-control research. Applications are due January 31, 2008, for fellowships beginning July 1, 2008. Fellowships are funded for one or two years and may be extended. The CTCRE represents a partnership between UCSF faculty and the Tobacco Control Archives (TCA) housed in the Kalmanovitz Library.

The CTCRE offers two research programs. Postdoctoral trainees will receive an annual salary commensurate with their experience, approximately $37,000-$51,000, according to the NIH stipend scale. These positions are supported by an R25T NIH training grant and applicants should be eligible for funding from the National Institutes of Health. Postgraduate trainees will receive an annual salary commensurate with their experience and subject to funding availability. Sources of funding may include support from the scholar’s home institution, faculty-mentor funding, or an R25T NIH training grant. Trainees will be recruited from a variety of fields including basic science, social science, public health, clinical science, political science, history, economics, law and marketing. They will study and conduct research in association with UCSF faculty mentors.
