Job Description
The Health, Social and Economics Research Unit within RTI International has an immediate opening for a Senior Researcher to analyze, coordinate and assist in the management of health research projects.
Responsibilities
- Leading and providing scientific guidance to evaluation and research studies related to public health, disease prevention, health communication and social marketing
- Leading data collection and analysis of community level evaluation research projects
- Leading qualitative data collection through focus groups, and other methods
- Supervising and mentoring junior and mid-level research staff providing leadership and motivation.
- Provide leadership and vision in further developing health education and social marketing research at RTI
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a PhD in the Social Sciences ( Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or related field) with a career focus in health policy
- The ideal candidate will have 10 years of work experience in a research environment with demonstrated results contributing to the planning, development and implementation of Public Health research, evaluation, or field studies.
- Prior extensive Management experience in the direction of a complex and comprehensive multi-level health promotion or disease prevention outcomes related evaluations
- Experienced in proposal development and obtaining competitive funding
- A solid record of conference presentations and publishing in peer-reviewed journals is mandatory
