Job Description

The Health, Social and Economics Research Unit within RTI International has an immediate opening for a Senior Researcher to analyze, coordinate and assist in the management of health research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and providing scientific guidance to evaluation and research studies related to public health, disease prevention, health communication and social marketing
  • Leading data collection and analysis of community level evaluation research projects
  • Leading qualitative data collection through focus groups, and other methods
  • Supervising and mentoring junior and mid-level research staff providing leadership and motivation.
  • Provide leadership and vision in further developing health education and social marketing research at RTI

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a PhD in the Social Sciences ( Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or related field) with a career focus in health policy
  • The ideal candidate will have 10 years of work experience in a research environment with demonstrated results contributing to the planning, development and implementation of Public Health research, evaluation, or field studies.
  • Prior extensive Management experience in the direction of a complex and comprehensive multi-level health promotion or disease prevention outcomes related evaluations
  • Experienced in proposal development and obtaining competitive funding
  • A solid record of conference presentations and publishing in peer-reviewed journals is mandatory
