Job Description: The Health, Social and Economics Research Unit at RTI International has an opening for a Research Health Analyst 2 to serve as task and project leader for new and ongoing research studies relating to health care organizations and other health services research. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in multidisciplinary teams. In addition, strong skills in qualitative or quantitative analysis are required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpreting data
  • Obtaining research funding for new grants and contracts
  • Authoring technical reports and articles for submission to technical journals
  • Promoting both qualitative and quantitative approaches to studying health care organizations
  • Organizing complex site visits and other data collection activities
  • Motivating, mentoring, and supervising junior research staff

Qualifications

  • Ph.D in Gerontology, Economics, Statistics, Public Health or related field with experience working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
    Or
  • M.A. in Gerontology, Economics, Statistics, Public Health, Public Administration, Public Health or related field with 5 years experience working on Medicare and Medicaid issues
  • Experience in program evaluation, policy analysis, proposal and report writing, and project management
