Due to the success of the Health Economics team a number of new roles have been created and the team is growing rapidly. In this key role you will develop and communicate health economic analyses to convey the value of AstraZeneca Brands to our customers.
You will:
Develop and deliver health economic analyses (60%)
- Develop health economic models, user interfaces and support materials for use in submissions to market access organisations and by sales teams with cost-sensitive NHS customers
- Provide input to clinical trial design, and analyse resource use data
- Utilise data from a range of sources (eg clinical audit, databases) to generate value messages
- Manage outsourcing of health economics projects
Develop and support the use of value messages by sales teams (15%)
- Provide training in use of value messages, and develop support materials for NHS sales team
- Support NHS sales teams in their dealings with key customer accounts, presenting information to customers when required
Input to strategic and operational plans (10%)
- Within cross functional teams, identify the requirement for, and contribute to the development of, Brand value claims
- Within cross functional teams, anticipate requirements for market access submissions, plan and implement solutions accordingly
- Ensure health economics/outcomes research teams in the wider AZ organisation are aware of UKMC requirements, and where possible meet our core data requirements
Clearly communicate value messages to customers in a format which influences decision-making (15%)
- Understand what constitutes value to our NHS customers and communicate value messages in formats which are understandable, and which aid decision-making
- Publish results of economic analyses in peer-reviewed journals
- Write the cost-effectiveness section of submissions to national market access organisations (NICE, SMC etc)
Ideally you will have a postgraduate qualification in health economics and significant practical experience of cost-effectiveness and budget impact modelling either in a contract research organisation, or in the pharmaceutical industry.
