Senior Programmer / Programmer Analyst: Social & Scientific Systems

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland, USA

Social & Scientific Systems, a growing employee-owned, technical and research support firm, has an immediate opening for a SAS Senior Programmer / Programmer Analyst. Under minimal supervision, will work with large complex health care databases and files, primarily in the PC environment, to produce statistical output; work directly with clients; manage programming tasks and prepare documentation to accompany deliverables.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelors’s degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, quantitative social science, or related field
  • Three to five years working experience in SAS applications programming, including proficiency in using SAS DATA step to perform complex file manipulation
  • Experience with data editing and statistical analysis
  • Experience with one or more large health care databases
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently and to produce high-quality products
  • Experience in MS Access and Visual Basic a Plus
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
